Description: Myrmecocystus placodops are a semi-arid species from South-Western States in America. They're a very unique species of ant due to the way they produce repletes which are workers that are used as food storage. They fill their gasters up to a grape-like size with carbohydrates and hang upside down from the ceiling of their nest. Myrmecocystus placodops are arguably the largest Honey Pot Ant in the USA. They're an aggressive species. They are fast-growing in the founding stages. Myrmecocystus do not like vibrations.
